Building Homes for NSW

The largest ever investment by a NSW Government in public housing — a $6.6 billion program delivered over 4 years ending 30 June 2029. This once-in-a-generation program aims to directly build thousands of homes across the state to confront the housing crisis and rebuild the public housing system.

Building good quality public homes.

Build 8,400 new public homes – giving priority to women and children fleeing violence

This is the largest ever investment by a NSW Government to build new, good quality, public homes, with half designated for survivors of domestic and family violence.

Deliver more than 21,000 affordable and market homes

Deliver 21,000 affordable and market homes across the state using well located land that is sitting empty and unused.

Affordable rental homes for key workers

$100 million Homelessness Innovation Fund

Innovative responses to the current crisis. This fund has announced $30 million in 2024/25 (although the annual report for that period records $26 million in funding and the detailed breakdown of awards disclosed shows $24.5 million). No details of the $20 million allocated 2025/26 have been disclosed.
